The concluding words and both are preserved have seemed difficult to some, as teaching that Judaism is to continue by the side of Christianity. But they make good sense when applied to the wine and the skins, the new power of the Gospel and the new ecclesiastical forms, which Matthew valued greatly. 18-26. Jairus' daughter and the woman with an issue (Mk. 5.21-43). Matthew's changes are almost wholly due to shortening and need no comment. |
