Celebration of New Ministry

On Monday, September 13, students friends, and area clergy joined with the Chancellor and the Board of Governors to officially welcome the new Coordinators to Henry Budd College with a Celebration of New Ministry and Installation. Bishop Jim Njegovan was Presider and Celebrant. Dr. Walter Deller, Principal of the College of Emanuel and St. Chad in Saskatoon, Sk., a long time friend of Marion and Paul as well as a former Acting Director of the College, was the Preacher. The Dean of Brandon, The Very Rev. Robin Walker was able to be present and participate in the Installation.

The service was conducted in both Cree and English as is the custom of the College. Hymns were sung in both languages, sometimes simultaneously and Marion and Paul attempted the Dismissal in Cree. Several people from among the students and Board participated in the Covenant presenting a Cree Bible, and College course books among the usual symbols at an installation.

After the service, the congregation gathered at Henry Budd College for a light supper. It was a time both of renewing an old friendship with Walter and setting a new path of friendship and collegiality with Marion and Paul.
