Board approves work plan

The Henry Budd College Board of Governors met on September 25 to begin their work with the new Coordinators and to plan for the upcoming year.

The Board welcomed the new accountant, Elaine Iles,  CGA who presented the year to date financial statements. The Board also approved in principal  a draft budget for 2005.

In order to address the ongoing need for maintaining the buildings and grounds, the Board struck a Property Committee to develop a maintenance and repair plan along with a long range plan for the upkeep of the College.  The Rev. David Wilson, Lena Henderson and The Ven. Grahme Spear, with staff support from Paul Sodtke will work this fall and winter to develop a plan for presentation at the spring Board Meeting.

Marion Jenkins presented an ambitious plan to position the College for growth and development over the next few years. The Board approved a work plan that includes searching out new program and project grants, exploring other revenue generation ideas, bringing more courses to the College and increasing the profile of the College within the community and across the wider Church.

One of the issues facing Henry Budd College is governance. The Board struck a task group to begin work on reviewing the Constitution, Policies and Procedures. This group includes Freda Lepine, The Rev. Stella Ledoux, Camelia Fidler, The Ven. Lydia Constant-Clark, and staffed by Marion Jenkins.

It will examine the existing constitution and policies and make recommendations for revision and updating to meet the current and future needs of the College.
