Parishioners who attended the Palm Sunday service enjoyed hot cross buns
and
coffee afterwards thanks to Marilyn Hickman, the Minister's Warden.
In the 2008 World Day of Prayer Services held Mar 7 in the
Russell Personal Care Home and St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Edith
Thickett and Virginia Beelaert participated as readers. Others from Christ
Church Russell attending the afternoon service were Rita Silversides,
Margaret Nernberg, and Gwendoline Beelaert. The theme was "God's wisdom
provides new understanding."
Lisa Daneliuk and Margaret Smith will represent Christ Church at
Synod.
A funeral service was held Mar 14 at the Russell Funeral Home for Joan Smith (née Howe), a former resident of the Russell area. The Revd. Shirl Christian officiated. Our sympathy is extended to the Smith family.
