News from the Birtle Parish – May 2008
St. George’s, Birtle

News

Due to the big spring snow fall at Birtle on Mar 29, highways were closed, country roads were closed and so our Church Service at St. George’s was cancelled. The Revd. Tom Stradwick must have read his almanac, as he went to Ontario to be with his wife Nancy the week before. Dwight Stewart took the Apr 6 Service.

The St. George’s Family Guild had their meeting on Mar 26 at the Parish Hall. We have made up our agenda for the coming months, so please mark your calendar and come and join us! Our Spring Rummage Sale is Apr 24, followed by a Bag Sale. The size of the bag varies so if you want lots of goods there will be a large bag waiting for you. Our profit goes to the Anglican Church Camp to be used where it’s needed. What is your rummage could be someone else’s “just what they wanted and needed” so come on out, you’ll find just the very thing you need!

May 29 is our Pie and Coffee Morning. Muriel Archar and Rose McNaughton will be at the door to greet you one and all from 10-11 a.m. for your choice of a piece of homemade pie and a cup of tea or coffee. What a great way to start off a day and of course there are pies for sale, all sizes, all different kinds, you could even take a few home and put them in your freezer. See you there! If you can’t make it, just phone 842-5217 “free delivery” in the town of Birtle! Ardena Page will be there with her inspirational books, cards and much, much more. Come and bring a friend!
