On Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday the St. George’s Sunday School re-enacted the Passion Story during the three services.
The Sunday School entered the sanctuary during the service bearing palms while the congregation sang hymns. The Lord’s Supper, prayers in Gethsemane and the Judas’ betrayal and trial were mimed as the story was related from the podium. The atmosphere was quiet as the actors walked solemnly out of the church carrying the cross.
On Good Friday the congregation processed downstairs at the end of the service to observe more of the play. As the congregation solemnly descended the stairs they could hear the noise of a hammer on wood. Two soldiers placed a wrapped body into a tomb and then rolled the stone across.
On Easter Sunday the congregation was invited to go downstairs to witness for themselves glorious and radiant evidence of the empty tomb.
